Facial Fillers | Restylane | Radiesse | Hydrelle
Fillers are a way to improve the firmness of skin without having to go under the knife. The quick fix is often referred to as a liquid facelift because you reap the same rewards with little if any downtime. Fillers instantly add volume to your skin’s appearance, restoring a natural and youthful fullness to the face. Fillers are injected into parts of the face that have deepening furrows, creases and harsh lines. Dr. Abrams will likely use one of three filers: Restylane, Radiesse and Hydrelle.
Facial Fillers Uses & Touch Ups
Restylane has been used worldwide by over 11 million people since 2010. This clear liquid gel is made from a natural sugar compound that eventually the body breaks down. Because of this, Restylane is not a permanent solution, but neither is any filler for that matter. It has been used most commonly for lip enhancement but can be used for any part of the face.
Process & Procedure
Radiesse is known as the long-lasting filler. While it varies from patient to patient a clinic study showed that most patients did not need a touch up for at least one year. This product is composed of microspheres made of calcium hydroxylapatite, a natural constituent of bone. The compound is injected into the skin and allows the body to produce its own collagen. The Radiesse formula is practically hypoallergenic and therefore a great option for most patients.
Hydrelle is the newest filler on the market. It is highly acclaimed for being the first FDA approved hyaluronic acid (HA) filler with lidocaine already in the compound. HA is a natural component of skin that attracts water to fill in facial wrinkles and lidocaine is typically used along with other fillers to numb the injected area.
